Dolce & Gabbana S/S 2012

This is another drawing i've been working on between shifts in the week just gone by. Dolce & Gabbana's new Spring/Summer ready to wear collection is full of womanly shapes and sexy silhouettes. Various striking patterns of vegetables and fruit being the dominating theme.

I am still alive!

Wow! Its been an incredibly long time since i last posted anything! Its now 2012 and that means a fresh new year and a fresh new start! So much has happened since i graduated in september, its been very hectic. However enough with the past!

I am currently loving all the fresh new Spring and Summer 2012 styles and trends, i'm especially loving the whole 'under the sea' theme seen at Chanel and Stella McCartney to name but a few. Im currently throwing some ideas about and am aiming to create a load of new fresh images this spring! My portfolio needs a major revamp.

The image below is the first of many to come and was really just a practise image for me to resharpen my skills and pencils as its been far too long since i touched pen to paper!

I am working on several new things at the moment and this image is what i spent my sunday morning drawing. The scarf is from Missoni Spring/Summer 2010 collection and the pom pom beanie is from Piers Atkinson's 2011 winter collection.

This is just a little something i quickly created based on a previous drawing for my Degree Show exhibition, it actually proved to be one of the best sellers of the private view night!

Something a little more risky...

Im thinking of working on some "love fashion" images that will illustrate the extremes of loving fashion, shoe fetish ect. Hopefully they will come out looking like a high end Gucci ad and not like a Boris Lopez american apparel ad!

New Website!

This is my very first attempt at making a working online website, take a look!

Long time...

So in true third year style i have decided to change the direction of my final year project completely, so im no longer looking at magazines ect. Instead i am going to create a few limited edition postcard packs detailing 2011's main Fashion Trends. This is the first image i designed a few days ago after a couple of failed attempts. Limited edition signed prints will also be available soon from my shop at folksy. Enjoy!

Sneak Magazine Competition

The final image i submitted to be in the first issue of sneak magazine is above. In the end i really didn't change much, just touched it up and added two brush strokes of pink watercolour for the ears. I was contacted a couple of days ago to say that i was successful and that they would like to do a feature on me for the magazine. I needed to submit a further 3 images as well as some information about who i am and what i do :)

Time

This is the pencil part of my submission to the first issue of Sneak Magazine created showcasing some of Plymouths up and coming talent in different artistic practices. I used to be so scared of going crazy with watercolours over the top of my drawings but i learnt earlier how to multiply layers on photoshop and effectively turn my drawings into acetate copies! So no excuses from now on, i plan to use colour in far more interesting ways, starting with the next stage of this drawing :)

Bye Bye Birdie!

Instead of concentrating on my main project, i decided to try my hand at drawing a bird. Im currently thinking this could become part of my letterhead, or perhaps my stamp?

Doll Face

I want to try and use more quirky, unusual poses as so far ive been rather safe and boring with my selection. This is something ive only just gotten round to "cleaning up" from the last project but i really like how my style looks completely different when on off white and cream paper.

This is a sketch i've done based on an outfit from the Stella McCartney Spring/Summer 2011 collection. Im still playing with the idea of the body and objects fading in to the white of the paper, and making the hair have more body and have a mind of its own.
